On 18-19 September 2018, the Special Secretary of the Ministry of National Defence visited the Training Centre for Civilian Personnel of the French Ministry of Armed Forces in Bourges, France, together with associates of her Cabinet and the Integrated Administrative Sector.
The visit took place within the framework of the Technical Assistance received by Greece from the French Public Entity "Expertise France" since 2013 for the reorganisation of the state and is part of the pilot phase (2018-2019) for the planning and implementation (by the Unified Administrative Sector) of targeted training programmes in Ministry of National Defence premises for the Ministry's civilian personnel.
Ms. Kalliopi Papaleonida went to France upon invitation of Mr. Claude Welding, General Inspector of Finances of the French Ministry of Public Action and Accounts, and engaged in cooperation with her counterpart, Mr. Marc Treglia and the members of the French delegation on matters of training and management of the human resources of the two countries' Ministries of Defence.
The Special Secretary was given a tour of the Centre's premises and met with the Directors of the individual departments, such as the Initial Training, Distance Learning, Continuing Education, and Specialised Training Departments.
During the conclusion of the visit, both sides stressed the need to consolidate the education/training of the ministry's civilian personnel as a continuous process through constant actions, as well as the importance of cooperation between the two countries through the exchange of good practices and relevant expertise.
